Mission Presentation Next Sunday, March 14th, members of our Mission Team, who recently spent a week in Houma, Louisiana, will be sharing with us in the worship services their experiences and how those experiences touched and shaped their hearts and sense of God’s presence.Please be with us next week to share in what they have prepared.
30 Hour Famine
Once again our youth and their advisors will be fasting for 30 hours between March 5th and 6th to support and raise awareness of those who are in need around the world.The event is sponsored by World Vision.This year, the funds we raise will be dedicated to the relief efforts in Haiti.Please support our youth with a pledge.
In Remembrance Once again, we will be using Easter Lilies to decorate our sanctuary on Easter Morning.The cost of the lilies is $8.50 and they may be given in memory or in celebration of particular loved ones.We are also offering an alternative way to remember loved ones in this Easter Season.Church World Service has long sought to respond to natural disasters by providing for the basic human needs of those who suffered through the disaster.One way that they do this is by providing Hygiene Kits that include one hand towel, one washcloth, one wide-tooth comb, one nail clipper, one bar of soap, one toothbrush, and six standard size Band-Aids®, to those who have been impacted by the disaster.Each kit costs $10.00 to assemble.We will not be collecting the items in the kit, but will collect the funds and CWS will assemble and ship the kits to those who have need.
Please include a check with your order. Indicate how many lilies and/or Hygiene Kits you would like. If you would like to purchase these in Memory or Honor of someone please write it on the form in the bulletin or Signpost and turn it in to the office.
Disaster Response
The PC(USA) has set up a fund that will be administered by Presbyterian Disaster Assistance to address the overwhelming need generated by the earthquake that struck Haiti.If you would like to donate to the relief effort you may send a check to the church, made out to the church with Haiti written on the memo line, and we will forward that money to PDA.
